Back to School: Makeup Looks

So, its' that time of the month where we are just about to start a new academic year in the same school or new school. You may be feeling nervous, anxious or even excited. But apart from that, might be glad that you have come to an age where you want to experiment with different school makeup looks. Well don't worry; I felt exactly the same as you when I first wanted to experiment different looks for school and collage. Here are a few ideas you might want to try out:

LOOK 1: Pretty Simple

So, for this makeup look I used mostly pinks to get a really pretty girly look. With these products, it's not all time consuming and it is extremely long lasting throughout the day. Although the products I have used are more Spring/Summer-like, they are still appropriate as the Sun is still shining!

Natural Collection Bronzer in Golden Glow
MUA Cream Blusher in Blossom
Revlon New Complexion Blusher in Tawny Peach
MUA Eyeliner in Malt Chocolate
Miss Sporty Extreme Lash Mascara
MK Lipstick in Pink Satin

LOOK 2: Slightly Smart

For this look, it is for those who can get away with wearing a bit more makeup than the first look. Although less products are used in this look than the first look, using a simple, shimmery eye shadow is perfect for going back to school. If you decide to opt for a more smoky effect, I went in with Natural Collection matt eye shadow in Crushed Walnut.

MUA Pearl eye shadow in Bronze
Natural Collection matt eye shadow in Crushed Walnut
Miss Sporty Extreme Lash Mascara
MK Lip Liner in Natural
MK Lipstick in Shell

LOOK 3: Simply Cute

For this final look, I decided to use the P.S. Love Night Time eye shadow pallet from Primark. I aimed to achieve a look that was suitable for those that have a fair amount of time in the morning  and so I went for a dark, brown smoky eye, which needs time to blend in well. Although very dark, it is wearable and suitable for school.

MUA Pumping Lip Gloss in Buff

So these are the three makeup looks I opted for which would be suitable for school or even collage. Leave suggestions of what back to school makeup looks you enjoy wearing.

PS. Love... 8 Shade Night Eyeshadow Palette Review

So, as some of you may know, from my last haul, I purchased Primark's PS. Love... 8 Shade Night Eyeshadow Palette.

At first, I was a little skeptical.....knowing Primark makeup isn't pricey but affordable, I didn't know how pigmented the colors would be. Although I have wanted this palette for a long time, I did hold back, but something told me one day, to just buy it......and so I did!

So inside the PS. Love... 8 Shade Night Eyeshadow Palette, there are five shimmery shades and three matt shades and they are all fairly dark and wearable for any occasion, which I like. My only issue with this palette, is that there are no names of what these colors are called, so that would be my only negative about this palette.

One color I have been wearing a lot, is the dark brown shimmery color, which is perfect for a easy, simple smoky eye, now that we are approaching Autumn (my favorite season, because of that's when my birthday is). It is a flattering shade which is less shimmery than MUA's Bronze and it is less obvious on your lids, hence why I have been loving this color.

The second color I have been using is this dark, intense shimmery plum color. Ok, guys.....let's just take a second.....I'm not even joking this color is fricking intense. It was only the other day I was experimenting with this color and it is so perfect for a strong, intense, dark, smoky eye.......like Primark took me by surprise there! This color will be truly worn throughout A/W season.

As for the other colors, I haven't actually tried and tested them out yet but hopefully you will see me do a few tutorials with them in the future.

If you have this palette and would like to give me your feedback on this product, then leave you comments below.

Current Drugstore Makeup Routine

A new week, a new blog!

Recently, I have been wearing this eye look, which is very flattering and appropriate for the end of the summer season, as the rain has begun to kick in.

So, there are two products, which I have yet to introduce to you in my next haul and these have been a great help to achieve the flattering, smoky eye look I was going for.

To begin this look, I primed my eyes using MUA's Pro-Base eye primer and then used MUA's matt shadow in the shade Chestnut as a transition color to help the second shadow last longer and stand out.

Over MUA's Chestnut, I then went in with MUA's Bronze and blended out well. Then I went back in with Chestnut just in the crease to achieve a smoky effect.

Then to finish off the look, I went in with MK's moisturizing lipstick in the shade Shell, which was perfect for this look!

And that's the look finished!

The Benifit: Gimme Brow Dupe

As a MUA (Makeup Academy) addict, I browse their website on a regular basis, to see if they have any products that haven't yet been introduced to Superdrug, and when I do find those new products, I just play the waiting game for them to be finally on sell in Superdrug!!

So after much time of waiting, Superdrug has finally introduced a new product to their brow range. I came across a Benefit: Gimme Brow dupe which is perfect for makeup buyers on a budget.....I mean it's only two quid, so you can hardly go wrong with that, can you??

So, as you can see from the image above, MUA's Brow Define: Tinted Brow Mascara, is a little tube of........brow mascara of course and is a perfect travel sized product to go on holiday with or even if you're going out with friends, you can quickly pop into your makeup bag.

The best thing about this affordable brow product, is that the wand does not pick up too much product, which means that you can achieve the most natural brows ever. However, in my case, I am growing out my brows, so I do still use MUA's brow pencil to define the tail of my brows and then set my brows with MUA's Brow Define: Tinted Brow Mascara, to achieve a natural look.

It's as easy and natural as that!

If you are interested purchasing MUA's Brow Define: Tinted Brow Mascara, they come in two shades: Brown (for those with light/fair skin) and Dark Brown (for darker skin, like moi)!

Please leave any comments below of any Benefit: Gimme Brow dupes which you have found to give a lovely brow.

Affordable Combination Skin Products I Swear By

Do you happen to become a victim of an oily T-zone and dry cheeks.....that is, do you have combination skin. Combination skin victims, your not alone in this one. I'm with you!

Ever since discovering I was a combination skin victim, I have tried as many products possible to maintain the fry pan face I have! But now the products I totally swear by are the Boot Essentials range.

There are three things which are good about buying these products. Number one, you can always buy these facial products as part of a 3 for 2 deal, which means more advantage points (so that kinda puts Superdrug at shame)! Number two, if you have sensitive skin, the cucumber or non-fragranced scents won't do your skin any harm. Finally, number three. You gotta love the price. I mean
£1.50 for each or you could just go with the flow of the 3 for 2 deal and pick up a few more products you are yet to try out. So ma dears, you can't go wrong with a great bargain!

Ok, so let's get into the nitty gritty of it all then!!

To begin (starting from first left product), I would remove my eye makeup with the eye makeup remover gel solution and just squirt a pea size onto a circular cotton pad. Once all my eye makeup is off, I then go in with my cleanser and squirt a generous amount on the tips of my finger and then dot around my face. Then it's massage time! While I massage the cleanser into my face, I tend to notice that all my face makeup is melting off, which is a good sign (because that means less work is needed to remove my makeup when using the facial wash). Once all my face makeup has melted off, I give my face a rinse with some warm water and pat my face with a towel, then go in with a pea size of facial wash to wash the remaining makeup off and just pat around my eyes with the same towel.

So that was the washing side of things. Let's hop into my daily skin care products!

After, I would get another cotton pad to tone my face, to remove any excess oils and makeup (at that point my skin feels fricking refreshed......let's just take a moment)! Then to bring back some moisture to my face, I then use a pea size of moisturizing cream, and work that into my skin as evenly as possible. Then lastly (phew), I take a micro pea size of eye gel and just pat that under my eyes and around my brow bone, just to prevent any puffiness (but it's optional if you are lucky enough to get a good night's sleep)!

And this guys, is what I do morning and night!
Leave your suggestions of affordable skin care products that you swear by and would recommend.
